Some of the most powerful ideas I’ve seen in a movie in a long while. Political and shit, the terrorist is the good guy, and the fascist corrupt government that instills fear into its people by faking a terrorist attack in order to wrest control of the population, well, they’re the bad guys. Does any of this sound familiar?
The Wachowski brothers are in fine, fine shape, as if The Matrix II and III had never happened. Yes, technically, it’s another director, James McTeigue, but he was already on the crew of the Matrix trilogy (first assistant director on the Matrix series). So it’s like still the same basic team. Sin City DVD
This is a review of the Sin City Recut-Extended special edition.
Just finished watching all the extras – I already saw the movie twice, so no need to see that again right away.
First of all, I must say I waited for this because the first edition of the DVD (4 different covers) that came out a couple months ago was not worth going for. Not even renting. No extras, no comments, no nothing. Just the movie, with different covers. If you are a sucker collector, you already own one or many of those. But waiting for the real thing was really worth it.
